The U.S. House of Representatives just approved the stopgap measure to keep the government funded through September. The vote was 217 to 213 with one Republican voting no and one Democrat supporting the measure.
The measure now needs to be approved by the U.S. Senate and 60 votes are needed for passage. The Senate Republicans will need bi-partisan support to pass the measure. The Senate may also amend the measure and send it back to the House. This needs to be completed by midnight, Friday, March 14, to prevent the government from shutting down.
